Laptop Sleeve Complete

The latest completed project, a laptop/ document sleeve. This will be on display and for sale at the contemporary craft fair, Handmade Oxford starting on 12 June at Waterperry Gardens in Oxfordshire.

The laptop sleeve is made with traditional English bridle leather and put linen thread. The bloom (white streaks) has been left on the surface and the person who buys it will be free to keep it or lightly brush it off. Among others the Japanese prefer it to be left on as it offers a little bit of protection.

The laptop sleeve is large enough for most notebook computers along with loose documents or any flat document wallets. The design can be customised to include pockets and a handle on the back. This one is partially lined and full lining is an option.

I will be making some similar laptop sleeves but without the front flap. Instead there will be a strap to keep the laptop inside securely.

Leather has amazing shock absorbency properties and it copes well with the odd bash in terms of appearance. Leather is also very good at keeping contents dry under normal circumstances.

This laptop sleeve is designed to allow for ventilation around the top and sides of the laptop. The extra room around the sides and top allow for notebooks of varying thickness to fit inside whilst keeping room for ventilation.
